Bernadette Peters to Perform at Cabaret, Benefitting Rose Brooks Center
Event leadership and major sponsorships also released
Rose Brooks Center has announced the entertainer for this year’s Cabaret event is legendary Broadway songstress, Bernadette Peters. The event will be held Sunday, February 27th at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center.
Throughout her illustrious career, Tony and Grammy Award-winning performer, Bernadette Peters has dazzled audiences and critics with her performances on stage, on television, in concert, and in the recording industry.
Sherry and Gary Forsee, longtime Rose Brooks Center supporters and community leaders, are chairing this signature fundraiser set to raise over $600.000 – enough to support an entire year of safe nights for women and children escaping violent homes.
“Gary and I are honored to be leading the 2011 Cabaret event. It is more vital than ever Rose Brooks Center receives the funding it needs to continue providing care to families in our community escaping life-threatening abuse,” said Rose Brooks Center Board member, Sherry Forsee.
Rose Brooks Center is a leader in domestic violence programming, providing services to more than 17,700 individuals each year. Last year, Rose Brooks Center provided more than 56,000 safe nights to women and children escaping violent homes. In June, in response to an overwhelming increase in demand for services, the agency launched an emergency plan to expand its overcrowded shelter.
“The money raised at Cabaret will help us break ground on this vital expansion and ensure all women and children have a safe, supportive place to call home,” said Forsee. “This one night truly can save lives.”
DST Systems is the presenting sponsor of Cabaret, and Research Medical Center, Sprint, and Sherry and Gary Forsee are premier sponsors.
