AREA HOSPITAL AND LOCAL LEADERS STEP UP TO COMMEMORATE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
What: A Domestic Violence Awareness Month Rally, supported by the Rose Brooks Center, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, and Carondelet Hospital System will be hosting a press conference and rally to raise awareness of this violent crime that affects a woman in the United States every seven seconds.
Domestic Violence victims are often afraid to share their situation with friends, family, and employers. Guests will have the opportunity to hear the powerful stories of victims who have broken the cycle of domestic violence as a result of community and agency support.

Kansas City, Missouri, Police Officer Capt. Mark Folsom, Susan Miller, Rose Brooks Center CEO, as well as a domestic violence survivor will appear to discuss this critical health and community issue.
Also available will be key one-on-one conversations with the speakers, along with silent witness sculptures, and representatives from Rose Brooks Center.
The mission of Rose Brooks Center is to break the cycle of domestic violence so that individuals and families can live free of abuse. Rose Brooks Center is the largest one site comprehensive domestic violence agency in Missouri, and has served the Kansas City community for 30 years.
