An online blog for those helping to break the cycle of domestic violence

Author: Barry.Stockinger

As we approach the close of another year, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to Rose Brooks Center’s mission.
This year marks another meaningful milestone – 45 years of providing emergency shelter. Although Rose Brooks Center was established in 1978, it was just one year later that our first shelter opened with 19 beds for adults and children.
Thank you for another year of incredible support and for the part you continue to play in our ability to serve thousands of adults, children, and their pets.
As another year draws to an end, it’s a common practice to look back and recognize the changes that have taken place in our lives.
For the families we serve, this time of year is full of outdoor fun and back-to-school events, alongside the work we do every day to keep survivors and our communities safe.
As you look at the Impact Report, you will see a representation of the collective work provided to survivors and those affected by violence. One of the most profound results from last year is the number of individuals we spoke to on our 24/7 crisis hotline, totaling 11,707 calls.
As I reflect on the previous year, I’m reminded of the moments of strength I’ve witnessed in survivors as they reclaim their lives and futures. These moments would not be possible without you, our friends, walking alongside us and those we serve.
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer, filled with special moments and memories with friends, family, or loved ones. At Rose Brooks Center, we count it an honor to walk alongside those we serve, as they create new and lasting memories all summer long.
As we begin to settle into another year, it is impossible not to reflect on 2021 with sincere gratitude. As you review Rose Brooks Center's 2021 Impact Report, the numbers represent more than success...
Here we are again at the end of another year and we are reminded how much can happen in a single year’s time.
As many of you already know, I have accepted the role of CEO, following Susan Miller’s retirement this summer. Although it may seem appropriate to say, “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” I already feel as if I know each and every one of you.
