Bringing together program and service providers, the Jackson County Domestic Violence Fatality Review (JCDVFR) team is a collective which has been years in the making. The team will review domestic violence-related fatalities to better understand the dynamics of domestic violence-related homicides and near fatal cases, and develop recommendations and strategies to prevent future deaths.
This collective is vital, in particular to those helping protect domestic violence victims and survivors. âOur work centers around saving lives and preventing future domestic violence occurrences and homicides,â explains Rose Brooks Center CEO, Lisa Fleming. âThis review will enhance the communityâs coordinated response to those who need us most â victims and survivors of domestic violence.â
The JCDVFR team launched its new review process in May after years of collaboration, and is committed to creating the systems and societal change needed to ultimately save more lives.
