An online blog for those helping to break the cycle of domestic violence

Housing stability and economic security go hand in hand. Without one, the other will be hard to sustain. That’s why Rose Brooks Center implements these services in tandem, often alongside what we refer to as care coordination. This is how it works.

Rose Brooks Center’s Housing Program primarily accepts referrals through a coordinated entry system used throughout Jackson and Wyandotte Counties. Essentially, coordinated entry aims to equitably distribute housing resources and related services to those who need them most. We help facilitate this process for survivors of domestic violence.

Our housing staff help survivors to overcome barriers and find a home to rent. With staff support, participants decide their priorities throughout this 12-month program. Commonly, participants set, work toward, and accomplish their housing goals. For survivors, starting over is a remarkable accomplishment, considering all they achieve along the way. They build money management skills, find work, and access other Rose Brooks services like therapy and legal advocacy.

The program gives survivors the time and tools to heal from abuse and work toward a sense of independence. And because of individuals like you who support our work, we count you as part of each of their successes.
