Dear Friends,
Thank you for another year of incredible support and for the part you continue to play in our ability to serve thousands of adults, children, and their pets.
Last year also marked Rose Brooks Centerâs 45th year of serving the Kansas City community. Forty-five years ago, seven board members established a charter to support the community through shelters, hotlines, and education, and on August 22, 1978, Rose Brooks Centerâs hotline opened as a lifeline.
Today, we continue to be a lifeline throughout the region and beyond because of the kindness of those who believe in and support our mission. In 2023, we were able to answer 11,988 hotline calls from the community while providing 48,428 nights of safety for more than 600 adults and children. Also represented in our 2023 Impact Report are services extending well beyond our emergency shelter walls. Programs such as our school-based preventative care or police advocacy services, wherein more than 6,000 lives have been impacted through long-standing community partnerships.
Each number in this yearâs report represents our 45-year tradition of being a lifeline for those in our community who need safety and support away from domestic violence. Thank you for being part of each and every number and individualâs story as they seek a life free from abuse.
With sincere gratitude,

Lisa Fleming, CEO
