As many of you know, our school-based prevention program is called Project SAFE™, and it’s been an important community partner of the Jackson County school system for 32 years! Project SAFE is currently in 24 partner schools, supporting K through 12th-grade students.
As part of these prevention services, Rose Brooks Center also has a program that serves an even younger demographic called SAFE Futures.
SAFE Futures provides classroom presentations to students age 3 to 6, helping them to regulate emotions, build resiliency skills, and develop positive peer relationships. These resources are fundamental in order to break the cycle of domestic violence for the next generation.
Similar to Project SAFE, this pre-k program also extends the full school year, allowing Rose Brooks staff to visit the classroom once a week to deliver the curriculum. Currently, SAFE Futures is in 20 schools.
“I definitely want my class to be a part of SAFE Futures again next year. Thank you for providing this valuable experience for my students.” – a teacher at one of our participating schools

Project SAFE™: Project SAFE and SAFE Futures are school-based violence prevention programs within Jackson County schools, working to end the cycle of domestic violence in the lives of our youth. If you want to know if Project SAFE/SAFE Futures is in your or your child’s school, check with your school counselor..
