  • Bi-Lingual Victim Advocate

    Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency, is currently hiring for a full-time, Bi-Lingual Victim Advocate reporting to the Advocacy and Education Coordinator. The principle responsibilities of this position are to provide advocacy services to victims identified as being at high-risk for lethality, provide domestic violence court advocacy services for victims appearing for Full Order of Protection hearings at the Jackson County Court, provide advocacy and crisis services to callers on the hotline. This position will also maintain accurate and complete documentation of services and facilitate linkages between RBC programs, other advocacy services, court personnel, law enforcement officials and related social services.

    Other Aspects of the Job:
    1. Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all Rose Brooks Center competencies, according to agency policies and procedures as well as a commitment to the overall mission.
    2. Attend scheduled supervision, staff and team meetings.
    3. Participate in all required and optional trainings as determined.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Required Education
    • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience

    Required Skills/Qualifications
    • Bilingual Spanish-English – full proficiency with both written and verbal skills.
    • Experience in domestic violence advocacy and knowledge of domestic violence
    • Computer literacy
    • Proven relational, organizational, and customer service skills

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications
    • Experience working in a court setting
    • Experience in crisis response and trauma informed services; in person or over the phone
    • Effective team member in collaboration and cooperation
    • Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance

    Hours:
    Full-time, primarily Monday-Friday normal business hours. Minimum of 40-hrs/wk. This may include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Bridge Advocate (PRN Part-time/On-Call)

We are seeking reliable persons to serve as Bridge Advocates to work on-call and on an as-needed basis (PRN) when staff or other volunteers are not available. If you are looking for an opportunity that provides a flexible work schedule and offers valuable advocacy training and team support then this may be for you! A flexible schedule could include evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday hours. More information about hours is listed below. Responsibilities include providing direct advocacy services to victims of domestic violence identified in a health care setting. Advocates must be able to respond to the Bridge Dispatcher or Hotline within 10 minutes of a call and arrive at the referring KCMO hospital within 45-minutes of the call.   • Bridge Advocate- Part Time (20 hours)

    Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency seeks a part-time, non-exempt Bridge Advocate, reporting to the Bridge Program Coordinator-Advocate Supervisor. Principle responsibilities of the position is to provide crisis/non-crisis advocacy services to victims of domestic violence including in the healthcare setting. Position includes direct service activities such as safety planning, assistance with accessing shelter and other community resources, assist with filing victim’s compensation and emergency orders of protection, and follow-up contacts. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of services for grant compliance and reporting requirements specific to the role. Supports the mission and values of the agency, collaborates across program teams within the agency, as well as systems and persons outside the agency. Performs other duties as assigned.

    WORK HOURS:
    This is a part time, non-exempt position and will work approximately 20 hours each week. Varied days, evenings, or day hours, weekends or some holidays that fall on a normal day off. The Bridge Advocate works in an office, hospital, and clinic environment and requires limited local travel. It requires flexible hours including evening and weekends and participation in the on-call rotation.

  • Bridge Coordinator

    Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency seeks a full-time, exempt Bridge Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Community Programs. This position will provide direct advocacy and safety planning services, training, hospital and clinic policy development, task force leadership, public speaking, and after-hours on-call availability. Principle responsibilities will be to provide crisis/non-crisis advocacy services to victims of domestic violence in either a clinic or hospital setting. Additionally, this position will coordinate with hospital/service area in creating an environment supportive of reaching victims of domestic violence. This position will develop and maintain the awareness and utilization of the Bridge Program to the service areas with marketing and training, coordinate quality and quantity of services provided, coordinate Bridge Program services both internally and externally and assists with volunteer services and training. Will perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Required:
    • Experience with facilitating, presenting and training others in a workplace setting
    • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others – both internally and externally
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to function independently with minimal direct supervision
    • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with community partners

  • Bridge Coordinator / Advocate Supervisor

    Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency seeks a full-time, exempt Bridge Coordinator/Advocate Supervisor, reporting to the Director of Community Programs.     • Minimum one-year domestic violence advocacy /crisis intervention experience
    • Proficient use of Windows operating system and programs
    • Experience with facilitating, presenting and training others in a workplace setting

  • Shelter Advocate – PRN On-Call

    Rose Brooks Center, a non-profit domestic violence agency, is currently hiring for a PRN On-Call Shelter Advocate. The Shelter Advocate position works within a low barrier and voluntary program. The Shelter Advocate reports to the Shelter Manager and is responsible for providing survivor centered, accessible, trauma informed and culturally competent advocacy to residents of Rose Brooks Center. Primary responsibilities include providing advocacy and crisis intervention services for residents of the 100 bed shelter and to callers on the hotline. Other responsibilities include conducting resident intakes, operating and monitoring the security system, facilitating services and activities that promote a healthy, safe and positive living environment and provide central office coverage and general office functions. This position will support the mission and values of the agency, collaborate across programs within the agency, a multi-disciplinary team and within systems outside the agency.

    Qualifications:
