Children's Programs

About

One of the very first programs that Rose Brooks Center established since opening its shelter in 1979 was the Children’s Program. Created in 1980, the program helps to address the incredible emotional needs of those also impacted by domestic violence – the children. The Children’s Program is a significant part of Rose Brooks’ mission, as we work to break the cycle of domestic violence — offering a wide variety of services to support the emotional and physical well-being of children who are healing from domestic violence.

When a Parent and their child need to heal together...

THE IMPACT

ending the cycle

The Children’s Program is for the entire family.

Parents play an important role in the healing of their children. Parent services include individual and group parent support sessions, family enrichment activities, and domestic violence education and its impact on their children.

All parent services help families raise healthy children and ultimately prevent the cycle of domestic violence. As a matter of fact, 95% of the parents living in shelter with their children can identify ways to support their child’s healing once engaged in services. This is breaking the cycle!
